DKI Provincial Government Asked To Quickly Pass The SJUT Regional Regulation Due To Accidents Due To Cables
JAKARTA - Trisakti University planologist Nirwono Yoga asked the DKI Provincial Government and the DKI DPRD to accelerate the ratification of Regional Regulations on Integrated Utilities Network Facilities (SJUT) due to student accidents due to cables in South Jakarta.
"DKI and the DKI DPRD need to immediately accelerate the ratification of the SJUT Regional Regulation so that the implementation of the relocation of the utility network to the underground or sidewalk along with the revitalization of the sidewalk," Yoga said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 1.
Yoga said that there is a need for clear regulations, especially from the DKI Jakarta Highways Agency so that the implementation of SJUT can be directed and has a legal basis.
According to him, the case of a student named Sultan Rif'at Alfatih (20) who was caught in an optical cable could be a government momentum to accelerate the transfer of all SJUT.
In addition, he also asked the DKI Provincial Government to be more daring to take responsibility for the security and safety of citizens during the work of SJUT in each region. "So it doesn't just blame the cable-owning company," he said.
"The DKI Provincial Government must summon the owner of the optical cable and the contractor implementing the fiber optic installation must be fully responsible for the victim," he said.
He also suggested that the contractor be banned from operating and given strict sanctions in the form of revocation of business licenses.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) has summoned a provider company that manages an optical cable network on Jalan Pangeran Antasari, South Jakarta, following an accident case that happened to a student after being hit by a gank cable.
