Attorney General Supports The 4G Kominfo BTS Project To Be Completed On Time

Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin in a meeting with the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi, stated that he was ready to support the problematic 4G BTS infrastructure development project to be completed on time.

"In the future, we will be very supportive so that this project can be completed on time, on quality and on benefits because it is intended by the wider community, especially in the 3T area (frontier, outermost and underdeveloped) in order to get access to the same digital information as other regions," said Burhanuddin as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 24.

The meeting between the two discussed several tasks and authorities from the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

The duties and authorities regarding multimedia surveillance include the spread of hoax news, immoral content, violent content, and other content that can disrupt public order.

According to Burhanuddin, the Prosecutor's Office's steps to support the completion of the 4G Kominfo BTS project are in accordance with the orders of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who requested the continuation of the BTS Kominfo project.

Burhanuddin emphasized that the implementation of the acceleration of the construction of 4G BTS which had previously stalled would not interfere with the ongoing legal process because the case had been voltoid (completed) and an audit and field inspection (place) had been carried out.

The Attorney General's Office and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology are committed so that the project can be immediately utilized by the community.

Burhanuddin also suggested that a small team be formed to assist in the acceleration of audits, contracts, auctions and implementation while waiting for the team to be formed by the President, which could later be used as a reference or input by the Digital Ecosystem Acceleration Task Force.

In the meeting as well as consultation, the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology have the same commitment to save the National Strategic Project so as not to cause greater losses, and will be communicated effectively by a team that will soon be formed.

Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie hopes that several national strategic projects in his ministry can be provided with legal assistance from the prosecutor's office, so that they can work quickly, appropriately without violating the law.

"The BTS project must continue, it must be realized because it involves the fate of the people. Later the Attorney General's Office will assist, all contracts and others will be reviewed," said Budi.

"Later, when it comes to the law, we will go to the Attorney General's Office. We have technical business on how to accelerate the construction of the BTS project," said Budi.
