LinkedIn Launches Free Blue Check Verification Marks for Employees and Employers
JAKARTA - LinkedIn users can now verify their identity and employment on the platform. The good news is that this service will be provided free of charge and does not require a paid subscription package like Twitter.
"On LinkedIn, when you represent who you really are, you'll have a greater chance of discovering professional opportunities that matter to you and your community," LinkedIn Vice President of Product Management Oscar Rodriguez said in a statement quoted on April 13.
Partnering with CLEAR, an electronic identity platform, users can securely confirm their identity using a government-issued ID and phone number.
After the verification process, a blue or green tick will appear next to the profile name. In addition, users can also use their company email address to verify that they are working for more than 4,000 supported companies.
"This is one more way to authenticate your profile. Over time, we'll be rolling this out to more companies and expanding eligibility," says Rodriguez.

"We plan to make it available to dozens of participating companies and reach more than two million LinkedIn members. We'll continue to expand availability as more companies participate in Entra," explains Rodriguez.
However, this verification option is only available to users in the United States (US), LinkedIn says it will expand the availability of the feature going forward.
