Becoming General Chairman Of PPFI 2023-2028, Deddy Mizwar Fights For Films That Haven't Got A Schedule Yet

JAKARTA - The Association of Indonesian Film Companies (PPFI) held the XXI congress in Jakarta, on 28 February. Veteran producer, actor, and director Deddy Mizwar was re-elected as general chairman of PPFI by acclamation and is the sole candidate.

The PPFI XXI Congress which lasted half a day went smoothly. The Congress made several important decisions, including changing the term of office from three years to five years, so that the new term of office will be 2023 - 2028.

In the new training, producer MD Manoj Punjabi was re-elected as head of the Department of Circulation. The other administrator is Zairin Zain as Secretary General with his deputy Angie Prijanto. The head of the production sector is occupied by Chandra Sembiring and KK Dheeraj as the head of the foreign contact department.

While Sandy Sanyoto occupies the position of General Treasurer. Wina Armada Sukardi assumed the position of head of organization and media relations.

In the ranks of the Supervisory Board, Ilham Bintang was elected as Chairman. Ilham was accompanied by three members, namely Camelia Malik, Raam Pundjabi, and Achmad Fahrodji.

In his remarks, Deddy Mizwar emphasized that currently there are still many film productions that have not yet been screened. "This is one that we must try to resolve," said Deddy Mizwar.

Furthermore, Deddy revealed, even though during the COVID-19 pandemic Indonesian cinema was able to survive, there was still a lot of homework to be done. "We will dialogue with the relevant parties," he added.
