Indonesia Masters 2023 Quarter-Final Schedule: Majority Of Host Representatives Meet Top Players
JAKARTA – The majority of the host representatives will meet the top seeds in the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters 2023. The following is the complete match schedule.
The quarter-finals of the BWF Super 500 event will take place today, Friday, January 27, 2023. Referring to the BWF website, the match will start at 13.00 WIB.
A total of nine Indonesian representatives will fight to get tickets to the last four. The men's doubles number was dominating by passing as many as three representatives.
The three representatives who passed were world number one pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, and 2022 All England champion Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.
However, the journey for two of the three representatives will be tough because they have to face the top seeds. Starting from the first seed Fajar/Rian who will be challenged by China's fifth seed Liu Yu Chen/Ou Xuan Yi.
This will be the fifth meeting for the two partners. In the previous four meetings that took place last year, they shared two wins and two defeats each.
Bagas/Fikri, who are not seeded in this tournament, will also face the test. The pair will try to beat Japan's second seed, Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi, to get past the last eight.
Then Jonatan Christie's men's singles, women's doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, and women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, are also certain to go through the same obstacle.
Jonatan will meet India's seventh seed Lakshya Sen before beating him in their only meeting at the Asia Team Badminton Championships in 2020.
Meanwhile, Apri/Fadia and Gregoria faced fourth seed Jongkolphan Kititharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai and Han Yue, China's eighth seed, respectively.
