Mukomuko Prosecutor's Office Names 2 New BPNT Corruption Suspects

MUKOMUKO - The Mukomuko District Attorney's Office, Bengkulu named two new suspects in corruption cases involving the distribution of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) for the 2019-2021 Fiscal Year worth IDR 40 billion.

"In the development of the BPNT distribution corruption case, there are two new suspects, bringing the total number of suspects to five," said the Head of Special Criminal Prosecutor's Office, Mukomuko Agung Malik Rahman Hakim, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, January 26.

The two suspects with the initials DS and DT worked as social assistants or sub-district social health workers (TKSK) in Air Rami and Air Manjunto Districts.

These two suspects acted and played the role of suppliers of goods needed to e-Warung, then goods such as rice, eggs, and others were distributed to BPNT Social Assistance recipients in Mukomuko.

 

The Mukomuko District Prosecutor's Office previously named three suspects in the case of alleged corruption in the distribution of BPNT.

The three suspects, namely Y as the regional coordinator and suspects N and S as sub-district social welfare workers.

This BPNT corruption case cost the state up to IDR 1 billion because the suspect is suspected of having committed irregularities in the form of reducing the quality of staple foods in the form of rice, eggs, vegetables, and fruits.

Meanwhile, in the Regulation of the Minister of Social Affairs (Permensos) Number 20 of 2019 in Article 39 paragraph (1) it states that social assistants are prohibited from forming e-Warungs, becoming suppliers of goods and receiving compensation, either money or goods, related to the distribution of BPNT.
