The Shake Of M 6.3 Gorontalo Earthquake Was Felt In Palu And Ternate
JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude (M) 6,3 in Gorontalo was felt as far as Palu and Ternate. This Lindu occurred on Wednesday, January 18 at 08.34 WITA.
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the epicenter was in the sea 69 km southeast of Bone Bolango or 72 km southeast of Gorontalo City.
This earthquake was felt in the Luwuk area, Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo City, North Gorontalo Regency, Southeast Minahasa, Bone Bolango Regency, Sanana, Kotamobagu, East Bolaang Mongondow, and Palu with an intensity scale of III.
In the Ternate and Labuha areas it is felt on an intensity scale of II. Meanwhile in Malili and Sorowako III-IV.
There have been no reports regarding the impact of the earthquake with coordinates 0.07 south latitude, 123.28 east longitude. However, the BMKG confirmed that this earthquake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami.
