M 6.3 Earthquake Shakes Gorontalo, BMKG: No Tsunami Potential

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 6.3 rocked the Gorontalo region at 07.34 WIB, Wednesday 18 January.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the epicenter was in the sea 69 km southeast of Bone Bolango.

"Coordinates 0.07 South Latitude, 123.28 East Longitude," wrote the BMKG on its Twitter account, Wednesday 18 January.

BMKG confirmed that the earthquake with a depth of 138 km did not have the potential for a tsunami.
