Meeting on Job Creation Perppu, This Is What Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah Discussed With the DPR
JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, said that in a working meeting with Commission IX of the Indonesia House of Representatives (DPR), he focused on explaining the employment cluster in the Government Regulation in lieu of a Job Creation Law (Perppu).
As is known, Commission IX scheduled a working meeting with the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah this morning.
Initially, the meeting between Commission XI and Menaker Ida was open to the public. Not long after, the meeting was decided to be closed at Ida's request.
"I explained about Perppu No. 2 of 2022, specifically I entered the employment cluster. So they (DPR Commission IX) asked for an explanation regarding the employment cluster in the Perppu", she told journalists, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 11.
Ida said that during the working meeting, the point underlined was the process of enacting a Government Regulation (PP). Ida said the DPR asked for dialogue.
"They hope that later in the PP determination process they will expand dialogue and discussion and they also want to be invited to discuss together concerns that will be regulated in the PP on Wages and the PP on outsourcing or outsourcing", she said.
Before the working meeting was requested to be held behind closed doors, Ida conveyed three main points of discussion that were presented in the discussion of the working meeting with the DPR's Commission XI this time.
First, the background and objectives of Perppu Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation. Regarding the first point, Ida did not explain it in detail. Because, said Ida, there is a ministry that will specifically explain this.
Second, related to changes in the substance of the workforce in the Job Creation Perppu.
These changes include provisions related to outsourcing, minimum wages, disability terminology, improvement of referrals related to the use of rest hours, benefits of job loss security programs, and others.
The last topic of discussion is related to the implementation of the Job Creation Perppu and its follow-up.

For your information, Perppu Number 2 of 2022 will come into force on the date of promulgation, which is December 30, 2022.
The Perppu also stipulates that all implementing regulations of the Law that have been amended by Perppu Number 2 of 2022 are declared to remain valid as long as they do not conflict with this Perppu.
"And all laws and regulations which are implementing regulations of the Job Creation Law are still valid as long as they do not conflict with the Perppu", she explained.
As a follow-up, said Ida, while waiting for the DPR's approval of the Perppu, the Ministry of Manpower will conduct discussions on revisions to Government Regulation Number 35 of 2021 concerning PKWT, outsourcing, working time, rest periods and layoffs, and Government Regulation Number 36 of 2021 concerning wages.
