Getting Acquiantance With the Instagram Group Profiles and Collaborative Collections Features Now In The Testing Stage
JAKARTA - Along with the launch of the Notes and Candid Stories features, Instagram also introduced a group-focused feature, namely Group Profiles.
With Group Profiles, users can create and join new types of profiles to share posts and Stories in a special profile to share with friends.
"Whenever you share content to Group Profiles, that content will only be shared with group members, not your followers, and will be posted on Group Profiles, not yours," said Instagram in its official blog quoted on Wednesday, December 14th.
Group Profiles are claimed to make it easier for users who have groups such as office groups, schools and others. They can easily post content to the group themselves.
According to a TechCrunch report, Group Profiles are currently being tested in Canada, Chile, and Taiwan. Not yet known for sure whether Instagram will launch it globally. To create a new group profile, tap + and select Group Profiles.

Apart from Group Profiles, Instagram is also testing the Collaborative Collections feature. The feature is a way for people to connect with friends through common interests by saving posts to collaborative collections in groups or 1:1 DMs.
Users can start or add to Collaborative Collections by saving a post directly from the feed or sharing a post with a friend via DM and saving it from there.
Unlike the Group Profiles feature, which is only being tested in a limited number of countries, the Collaborative Collections feature will appear if a user is in a test group and starts a collection with someone who didn't take the test and then invites new people, they will be automatically added to the test for the feature.
