Police Examine PSSI Chairman Iwan Bule as Witness to Tomorrow's Kanjuruhan Tragedy
JAKARTA - The National Police investigation team will examine several witnesses in the investigation into the deadly tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang. One of them is PSSI General Chairman, Mochamad Iriawan alias Iwan Bule.
"Next is the PSSI General Chair, then the PSSI Appeals Commission and the Archiving Secretary", said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division, Commissioner Nurul Azizah, to reporters, Monday, October 17.
In addition, there were several other witnesses, namely the PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) to the management of Arema.
The examination of the witnesses is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 18. They will provide information to the East Java Regional Police.
"Tomorrow, it is planned to examine several witnesses, including from PSSI, including the treasurer of Arema FC, then the corruption officer from the steward, then the competition department of PT LIB which is an additional examination, then the Commissioner of the PSSI Competition Directorate", said Nurul.
Then, specifically for today's examination, continued Nurul, the investigation team has examined dozens of witnesses and experts. Their explanation is so that the Kanjuruhan tragedy becomes clearer.
"Against 29 witnesses, including 3 expert witnesses", said Nurul.

For information, in the Kanjuruhan Malang tragedy, 132 people died. Several parties said the cause of the death toll was the shooting of tear gas by the police.
Then, in this case, the Police named six suspects. They are the President Director of PT LIB, Akhmad Hadian Lukita, Chair of the Arema FC Panpel, Abdul Haris, and Arema Security Officer, Suko Sutrisno.
Then, the Head of Ops of the Malang Police, Kompol Wahyu Setyo Pranoto, the Head of Samapta of the Malang Police, AKP Bambang Sidik Achmadi, and the Commander of the Brimob Company for the East Java Police, AKP Hasdarman.
