Donal Trump Criticizes US Jewish: No President Has Done More for Israel Than I Have Done
JAKARTA - Former United States President Donald Trump on Sunday criticized the country's Jews for not praising his policies toward Israel enough, warning that they needed to "get their act together" before it was "too late."
Comments made on Trump's social media platform, Truth Social, played the role of anti-Semitism that US Jews have dual loyalty to the US and Israel, and it drew immediate criticism.
"No President has done more for Israel than I have," Trump wrote before saying, somewhat surprising that "our wonderful evangelicals appreciate this far more than people of the Jewish faith, especially those who live in the US, ' reported by CNN October 17.
In this regard, American Defamation League leader Jonathan Greenblatt accused Trump of "Jewsplaining."
"We don't need a former president, who likes extremists and antisemitics, to lecture us on US-Israel relations. This is not about quid pro quo; it rests on shared values and security interests. This 'Jewsplaining' is insulting and disgusting," he wrote.
Meanwhile, the American Jewish Democratic Council also condemned Trump's remarks. "His threats against American Jews and continued use of antisemitic double-loyalty tropes fuel hatred of Jews," the group tweeted.
"We will not be threatened by Donald Trump and American Jews will reject Republican bigotry this November," the group continued.
Trump's comments echo arguments he has made before. In an interview last December, the former President argued that American Jews "don't like Israel or care about Israel," and also repeated his claim that evangelicals "love Israel more than the Jews in Uncle Sam's Land"

A Pew Research survey released in 2021 found that 45 percent of Jewish adults in the US viewed concern about Israel as 'important' to what it means to be Jewish, with an additional 37 percent saying it was "important, but not essential." Only 16 percent said that concern for Israel "is not important."
It is known that during his first campaign for the presidency, Trump delivered a speech to the Jewish Republican Coalition that was riddled with antisemitic stereotypes.
