Prevent Long Queues, Gas Stations In Biak Numfor Papua Are Guarded By The Police

PAPUA - A number of officers from the Department of Transportation and the Biak Police Station were stationed at the Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) of Biak Numfor Regency.

They are placed to oversee the sale of subsidized fuel oil (BBM) in the form of Pertalite and Solar in the area.

"This arrangement is so that the queue for purchasing subsidized Pertalite and Diesel fuel is distributed evenly," said Paul, a gas station operator in Biak, Papua, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, September 21.

There are at least three gas stations in Biak, including Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Jalan Sudirman, and Jalan Sriwijaya Ridge, which are escorted by officers.

The guard at the Biak gas station selling subsidized fuel aims to regulate and limit excessive purchases of subsidized fuel.

Paul admits that the queue of vehicles buying subsidized fuel gets a turn according to the fuel sales schedule at the gas station.

Previously, Deputy Regent of Biak Calvin Mansnembra admitted that there was a queue of vehicles to purchase subsidized fuel, so arrangements were needed to make it run smoothly. According to Calvin, the Biak Numfor Regency Government has wisely responded to the queues of vehicles in Biak to buy fuel.

"Dishub officials together with the police are involved in arranging the queue so that it does not interfere with the smooth flow of traffic on the road," said Calvin.

Regarding the fuel quota in Biak, he said it was available according to the quota from Pertamina.

"What needs to be monitored is buying fuel to prevent hoarding by certain individuals to seek profit," he added.

Calvin hopes that the residents of Biak Numfor will also supervise the sale of subsidized fuel so that it is right on target.

As of Wednesday, September 21 afternoon, there was a queue of vehicles buying fuel at the Sisingamangaraja gas station until they reached the edge of the highway.

The case of queuing for the purchase of subsidized Pertalite and Diesel fuel at gas stations occurred because Pertamina Biak had already received a supply schedule.
