In the match at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Japan on Thursday, August 25, WIB, Fajar/Rian won over representatives of Japan, Akira Koga/Taichi Saito. The fifth seeded Indonesian men's doubles played 45 minutes before winning the match with a score of 21-19 and 21-16.

At the beginning of the first game the game was tough because there was a significant struggle for points, but during the first interval Fajar/Rian took the lead with a score of 11-9. After the break, the competition was hot again, but Japan's representatives had to submit with a score of 19-21.

Continuing in the second round, Fajar/Rian's steps to win the final ticket were getting smoother. At the interval, they won by a thin score of 11-10.

After the break, the game was running again. The thin distance makes Fajar/Rian have to be careful. However, Akira/Taichi did not change much after that and only added six points at the end, while Fajar/Rian shot up by securing a 21-16 victory.

This victory made Fajar/Rian qualify for the quarter-finals following their seniors, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, who first won over Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel.

Meanwhile, Marcus/Kevin actually failed to win a ticket to the quarter-finals. The Minions ran aground after facing representatives of England, Ben Lane/Sean Vendy with the final results 15-21 and 9-21.

The bitter result was also received by the Indonesian mixed doubles, Rehan Naufal/Lisa Ayu. They also ran aground in the round of 15 after appearing 44 minutes against representatives of South Korea, Seo Seung Jae/Chae Yu Jung with a score of 21-23 and 12-21.
