Bob Arum Does’t Believe Tyson Fury Is Retired: He's Looking For Attention

JAKARTA - Tyson Fury's retirement has taken the boxing world by surprise, especially since just three days earlier he announced he would be fighting again.

Although his statement seemed serious, some did not take it seriously. Just as Bob Arum thought the Gypsy King's words were pure lies.

In an interview with 'Fight Hub TV', Arum downplayed the significance of Fury's announcement. The reason, Fury wanted to face fellow British boxer Derek Chisora, and that is the reason why he decided to return to the ring.

However, when Arum was asked if Chisora was an equal opponent to Fury, the answer was more than obvious.

"Not really. Tyson is watching: he's a little bit out of the spotlight because Usyk is fighting Joshua and Tyson likes the microphone and camera focused on him," Arum was quoted as saying by Marca, Tuesday, August 16.

"There will be (considerations to fight Chisora), for example, if the winner of the fight is injured and can't fight right away. Yes, then Fury will stay busy and fight Chisora or someone like that," the veteran fighter explained further.

Arum then discussed the possibility of Fury's new fight.

"Well, right now it doesn't look like fighting in the US is going to be as valuable as fighting anywhere else, whether it's in the UK or the Middle East. But I'm sure before he hangs up Tyson Fury will do it, fight in America again."
