Gas Station Manager In West Kalimantan Arrested For Misappropriation Of Subsidized Fuel
PONTIANAK - The West Kalimantan Regional Police arrested two suspects in the criminal case of illegal gold mining (PETI) and the misuse of subsidized fuel oil (BBM).
"The two suspects, namely the gas station manager with the initials M, and the PETI perpetrator or the fuel container with the initial A were both arrested from the results of the development of the previous PETI case that our ranks carried out", said Head of the Public Relations Division of the West Kalimantan Police, Commissioner Raden Petit Wijaya, in Pontianak, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 8.
He explained, that from January to July 2022 the West Kalimantan Regional Police handled 23 cases in 10 TKP (cases of crime) with mining locations in forests, rivers, land, as well as shelters and processing by arresting 75 suspects consisting of mining workers, collectors, processors. and investors.
"We have recovered 68.9 kilograms of gold, IDR 470 million in cash, and 11 units of heavy excavators", he said.
The modus operandi of the perpetrators in carrying out activities ranging from traditional methods to using heavy equipment, then the PETI results are taken to collectors to be sold to gold processors in Pontianak to Jakarta.
Meanwhile, for the case of misuse of subsidized fuel, there were 20 cases and 25 suspects secured with evidence of 55,180 liters of subsidized diesel, then one motor boat, five trucks, and 20 vehicles of various types with state losses of IDR 9, 8 billion.
"There is also the mode of diversion of subsidized fuel by buying repeatedly, then storing it, after accumulating a lot, then selling the fuel to the industry without any documents or illegally", he said.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Kalimantan Police said that the action against the illegal activities was not only applied to the small community (miners) but also to the financiers and financiers who had been touched by the law.
"Hopefully with this firm action, illegal activities such as crates and misappropriation of subsidized fuel can be further suppressed, and we hope that the public can immediately report if they see any illegal activity in the vicinity so that they can be prosecuted", he said.
