2 TNI Members Allegedly Participated In Helping Central Mamberamo Regent Escape To Papua New Guinea, KPK Coordinates With Army Chief Of Staff General Dudung

JAKARTA - The Regent of Central Mamberamo, Papua, Ricky Ham Pagawak, who is a suspect in alleged bribery and gratification, allegedly fled to Papua New Guinea with the help of two TNI soldiers. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will coordinate to request information from the two.

"Currently, we have also coordinated with the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Armed Forces for assistance in confronting his members regarding requests for information by the investigative team", said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, August 1.

Ali did not specify who the party was referring to. However, based on information circulating, one of those who helped in Ricky's escape was a regional TNI official.

"We hope for support and assistance from the TNI as a form of law enforcement synergy to accelerate the settlement of this case so that legal certainty can be realized immediately", he said.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) ensures that it will continue to carry out actions against Ricky, who is the regional head of the Democratic Party. Moreover, he has been on the wanted list (DPO) since July 15.

"We are still searching for the whereabouts of the said DPO, including making inquiries for parties suspected of knowing the whereabouts of the suspect", said Ali.

As previously reported, the KPK continues to investigate allegations of bribery and gratification in Central Mamberamo. Several witnesses have been called and searches have been carried out.

However, in the midst of this investigation, the Regent of Central Mamberamo Ricky Ham Pagawak fled. He fled to Papua New Guinea by way of a rat with the help of his aides.

KPK investigators are still pursuing Ricky. People who know Ricky's whereabouts are asked to provide information.
