Luis Suarez Returns Home After Traveling Around Europe: There's No Way I Could Turn Down This Opportunity
JAKARTA - Luis Suarez has confirmed that he will return to his boyhood club, Nacional. He admitted that there was an initial agreement with the Uruguayan club.
Previously, there was a lot of speculation regarding Suarez's future. He was once rumored to be working with his former Liverpool teammate, Steven Gerrard, who was interested in bringing him to Aston Villa.
There is also talk of a move to MLS as several clubs, including David Beckham's Inter Miami, are also interested. While Borussia Dortmund reportedly offered him a deal.
But Nacional managed to secure convincing Suarez to return home. The actions of the club's supporters also have a role. At home games earlier this month, some 20,000 fans wore Suarez masks.
Fans also held up banners encouraging him to join their beloved club. Ppaya shouting Suarez's name loudly also produced sweet results.
"I have now reached an initial agreement to join Nacional, it is impossible for me to turn down this opportunity," Suarez said in a social media video.
"I hope the final details will be finalized soon to reach a formal agreement."
If the recruitment process is successful, Suarez's European career is officially over. During his career on the Blue Continent, the player who has 132 caps in the Uruguay national team was recorded for defending big clubs.
Starting from Ajax Amsterdam, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid. He won trophies in four-nation competitions, including five La Liga titles, the Eredivisie title, the Champions League, the Spanish Supercopa Cup, the Dutch League Cup, and the League Cup.
