Chelsea Have Brought In Sterling And Koulibaly, Tuchel Is Not Satisfied: There Needs To Be Improvement If We Want To Hold On To The Position

JAKARTA - Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, seems not satisfied with the purchase in the market this summer. The arrival of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City and Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, is considered not enough.

According to Tuchel, Chelsea still has to bring in new players again. If not, the German coach is not sure his team can compete with other top English Premier League clubs.

The reason, Chelsea has left a number of players. Apart from Romelu Lukaku, the Blues also lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

"We finished third last season, there is a gap. If you want to maintain your position, you need to improve (the strength of the team)," Tuchel said, as quoted by Sky Sports via Antara.

"You can never sit still. Another team will catch up with you," he continued.

Previously, Tuchel had indicated the need for additional ammunition in the defense line. This is to patch the hole left by two players.

Initially, Chelsea wanted to sign Matthijs de Ligt. However, the Dutch player prefers to join the German Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich.

The target was shifted to Sevilla defender Jules Kunde. Reportedly, there has been communication between Chelsea and the Spanish club. However, there has been no official confirmation from the two clubs.
