Karawang Police Arrest Counterfeit Money Dealer
JAKARTA - The Karawang Regency Police revealed the circulation of counterfeit money and arrested a perpetrator at his home in the Kotabaru area, Karawang Regency, West Java.
"The circulation of counterfeit money was revealed based on public reports," said Karawang Police Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant Aldi Subartono in his statement in Karawang, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 6.
Based on the community's report, the police arrested a counterfeit money dealer when he was about to make a transaction on Thursday, June 2.
The suspect, whose name or initials are not mentioned, is suspected of producing counterfeit money himself. This can be seen from a number of equipment contained in the suspect's house.
From the suspect's house, the police at that time secured a printer and scanner belonging to the perpetrator, Pylox spray paint, a stamp that reads Bank Indonesia, and a number of other pieces of evidence.
The perpetrator was arrested by the police at his home in North Pangulah Village, Kotabaru District, Karawang with evidence in the form of counterfeit money ready to be circulated.

The evidence that was secured included 19 pieces of counterfeit money in the IDR 100,000 denomination ready to be circulated or a total of IDR 1,900,000.
In addition, there were also 1,080 counterfeit notes in the IDR 100,000 denomination that was not ready for circulation and 287 counterfeit notes in the IDR 50,000 denomination that was not ready for circulation.
"Currently, we are still conducting investigations to complete the investigation process," said Karawang Police Chief.
