Stoffel Vandoorne Will Be Racing At Formula E In Jakarta At Anies Baswedan’s Circuit: I Like Challenges

JAKARTA - Formula E 2022 enters the 9th series. This time, the racers will compete for speed and strategy at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) Ancol, North Jakarta, next June 4.

The leader of the Formula E standings, Stoffel Vandoorne is challenged to face the Jakarta E-Prix. He still aims for the best results to maintain his position even though he is blind to the character of the circuit.

Understandably, this is the first time Jakarta has hosted the electric-powered jet race. Vandoorne wanted to conquer this new, unfamiliar trajectory.

"It's a new city and a new circuit. Jakarta is a quantity that not everyone knows, but I like to discover new tracks. It's always interesting. I like a challenge when you don't know exactly what to expect," the 30-year-old said on Formula's official website. E.

The Belgian rider is still in control of the standings with a collection of 111 points. He is still ahead of Edoardo Mortara of ROKiT Venturi Racing who occupies second place with a collection of 99 points.

In addition to leading the drivers' standings, the team that houses Vandoorne, Mercedes-EQ, is also still the best team to top the standings. This capital makes their chances of getting points in Jakarta to be large.

"I also think that we are strong as a team in such a situation. We were ready, knew what was possible and now have to use it to our advantage," he said.

"We had a good race last time and the aim is of course to continue the same without too many expectations. I have confidence in the car and our race in general is good."

"So that's the same goal this weekend, to have a good race."
