Becoming The Promoter Of The 2021 International Youth Championship, Madrid Legend Michel Salgado: This Tournament Is Special
JAKARTA - The legend of Real Madrid, Michel Salgado as the promoter of the 2021 International Youth Championship (IYC) enthusiastically welcomed the agenda he was handling. Salgado even called this event a special tournament.
The IYC 2021 event will be the second series after the first agenda was held in 2019 in Bali. According to Salgado, this event is special because it will be held for the first time in Jakarta and will also be centered at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), which incidentally has just been built and is expected to become an international standard stadium.
"This year's IYC tournament is very special, because this is the first time it has been held in Jakarta and it is held in a large stadium which I think is a beautiful thing to see and enjoy in the largest stadium in Asia," said Salgado at a press conference at the Shangri-La Hotel., Jakarta on Tuesday, April 12 at noon.
Responding to the JIS label, which will become the venue for an event equivalent to an international stadium, Salgado then said he also couldn't wait to set foot in the stadium, which is located north of Jakarta.
"I can't wait to come to JIS and see when the team comes there, that's what makes IYC this year special in my opinion," he said.

Regarding JIS, which is predicted to be a modern stadium licensed by FIFA, this is reflected in the existing facilities. JIS is the first stadium that has retractable proof and also hybrid grass which is considered equivalent to Bayern Munich's headquarters, Allianz Arena.
IYC 2021 will take place on April 13-19, where all the agenda will be centered on JIS. In this tournament, there will be four teams participating, namely Barcelona U-18, Atletico Madrid U-18, and two host representatives, namely Bali United U-18 and Indonesia All-Star U-20.
The four teams will compete in a group stage tournament format, in which the two teams with the highest points will qualify for the final. Meanwhile, the remaining two teams will compete in the match for third place.
