Pursuit Of Semifinal Tickets, Indonesian Men's Team Puts On The Best Formation To Face Korea At BATC 2022

JAKARTA – The Indonesian men's badminton team has prepared the best formation to face South Korea. Moreover, the semifinal ticket is more spacious for the winning team of this match.

Indonesia and South Korea are scheduled to meet in the second match of Group A of the 2022 Asian Team Badminton Championships (BATC). This match will be held at the Setia City Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia, on Thursday, February 17 morning.

Men's doubles coach Aryono Miranat said that the duel against South Korea was very important in determining the fate of the Indonesian team. For this reason, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo is required to win to be able to immediately secure a semifinal ticket.

"Tomorrow's match against Korea is very important. The odds are even, 50-50. If we can win, the ticket to the semifinals seems to be getting closer. But it is also not easy and requires hard struggle", said Aryono in a statement received by VOI.

Korea and Indonesia started the journey in Group A very well. Red and White managed to win with a score of 4-1 over Hong Kong, while Korea appeared more fierce by shaving India 5-0.

Seeing the strength of Korea, the Garuda Muda squad was seriously preparing themselves. This includes practicing for two hours on Wednesday, February 16, at Setia Badminton Hall, Selangor.

"We have done an evaluation, especially for doubles players. Yesterday something was lacking, of course, we will fix it. What is certain is that we will perform with the best team", said Aryono.

Men's singles coach Harry Hartono said that the map of Indonesia's strength in its sector remained balanced with the opponent. Moreover, Chico, Ikhsan Rumbay, and Christian Adinata admitted that they had never met Korean players against India.

Harry is also confident because his three men's singles players are showing good progress. Most of them were playing in the senior team championship for the first time but managed to put on their best game and confidence.

"What is even more exciting is that they can quickly adapt to the arena. Especially Chico who is so confident that he can beat Lee Cheuk Yiu, a player who is difficult to beat by Anthony Ginting", said Harry.
