Bitcoin Mining Makes Noise, Residents Report To Mayor, Crypto Mining Facility Closes Immediately

JAKARTA – Bitcoin mining company Red Dog Technologies located in Tennessee, United States (US) was sued by residents due to the noise caused by Bitcoin mining activities.

The noise of the mining machines is considered "unnaturally disturbing" the lives of local residents. So neighbors complained about the inconvenience to Washington County Mayor Joe Grandy. The complaint was reported last June.

From the investigation conducted, it is known that the Bitcoin mining company does not comply with zoning requirements in carrying out crypto mining operations in the area. Red Dog Technologies itself is reportedly already trying to reduce the noise. However, the residents were not satisfied.

Bitcoin.com News reports that the citizens' demands seem like the general public's complaints. However, this lawsuit has special importance that can be used as a precedent for similar cases. This is because mining companies were established in previously neglected areas.

The lawsuit calls for a spatial re-planning for the power company that leases the property to Red Dog, the mine operator, and mining facilities in the zone. The rezoning request proposes to change the zoning type from General Agriculture to Business Agriculture. The claim has not been considered valid.

Although the case sounds trivial, the existence of demands from residents can lead to the closure of Bitcoin mining facilities. It was later reported that the Regional Planning Commission there has decided to close the Bitcoin mining site and will take action against mining operators if Red Dog Technologies cannot comply with the decision.
