NASA Astronauts Hold 'Olympics' On The Space Station

JAKARTA The astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS) are aware that the Olympics are not an easy activity to do, but they are interested in trying it out in space.

This was revealed by NASA astronaut Matthew Dominic, who just returned to Earth last October. Dominic said that he and his five colleagues had time to do the Olympics on the ISS. Of course, all they do is a hoax.

While at the space station, the six astronauts who were resting from their duties pretended to be athletes and did light exercise. Dominick and his colleagues also take advantage of gravity when pretending to do sports.

"Over the last few days on the International Space Station (ISS) we are very happy to pretend to be Olympic athletes," Dominic said, quoted from NASA's blog. "Of course, we benefit from conditions without gravity."

NASA shared a unique video when astronauts host their own version of the Olympics. Initially, it was seen that the crew tried to pass the mock torch while floating. This sport was made directly by the astronauts while on the ISS.

After that, NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore showed attractions such as sipping water from a floating ball. Next, Astronaut Tracy Dyson lifted heavy loads to two of its fellow astronauts, while badminton did a long jump.

Dominick also participated in their sport, namely doing perfect gymnastics while flying across the station. This movement is carried out by opposing microgravity so that it looks very interesting.

Furthermore, Astronaut Suni Williams pretended to do sports on a saddle horse, while Astronaut Mike Barrat did the disc throw. Wilmore also showed his greatness in throwing a shot at the station's minimal gravity.

Astronauts carried out this entertainment activity a few months ago when the Summer Olympics were held in Paris. This fairly short performance was created to appreciate all athletes participating in the Olympics or other award activities.
