Future Cars From Sony And Honda Officially Open Orders

JAKARTA - After being introduced last year in the form of a concept, now Afeela is the electric vehicle brand produced by Sony and Honda's joint venture to introduce her first model to be sold, namely Afeela 1.

The pairing car for Sony and Honda's automotive DNA technology will be present at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 which will take place from January 7 to January 11. Later, the model will be assembled at a state-of-the-art factory in Ohio with official sales in California anticipated in 2025 and delivery in mid-2026.

"This car was developed for an autonomous driving era that combines advanced software with carefully refined hardware. We will meet the expectations of our customers by providing a safe, secure, and convenient travel experience," said Sony Honda Mobility Inc CEO Yasuhide Mizuno, quoted from his official website, Wednesday, January 8.

By design, a single nini car prioritizes passenger comfort with the concept of 'Oval' across the cabin, which depicts a harmonic and eternal aesthetics both in the interior and exterior. While its interior has advanced space designed for the best travel experience, its exterior removes decorative lines and overly corrugated surfaces, characterized by sleek surfaces.

This car is also embedded with a myriad of advanced technology or Intelligent Drive, SHM's ADAS, using 40 sensors (cameras, LiDAR, radar, ultrasonic sensors) installed on Afeela 1 to experience and collect data from the surrounding environment.

Afeela 1 is available in two trims, namely Origin and Signature. Both trims are equipped with free subscriptions for 3 years including Afeela Intelligent Drive, Afeela Personal Agent, immersive entertainment content options, theme sets for digital vehicle customization, and 5G data connectivity.

For the price, trim Origin is priced at 89,900 US dollars or around Rp1.4 billion, while for trim Signature it hits 102,900 US dollars or Rp1.6 billion. The exterior color is available in three options: Tidal Gray, Calm White, and Core Black. AFEELA 1 Signature offers a choice of three exterior colors and two interior colors (Black and Gray). Its charging is compatible with Tesla Supercharging Network across the United States.
