JAKARTA - In Southeast Asia, businesses are facing an increasingly growing spectrum of cyber threats based on the web or internet in line with the increasing growth of the digital economy.
In the first half of 2024, Kaspersky has detected and blocked more than 26 million web threats from the B2B security solution in the region, with an average of 146,944 web attacks daily.
Companies and organizations in Malaysia face 19,615,255 web-based threats in the first six months of this year, while Indonesia is in second place with 3,204,294.
Then Vietnam and Thailand were ranked lower in Southeast Asia, with a total of 1,445,452 and 1,057,732, while 846,837 threats were recorded in the Philippines and 574,292 in Singapore.
"Along with the increasing number of businesses and government sectors in the region continuing to embrace digitalization and increasing dependence on digital platforms, it has led to more opportunities for cybercriminals to exploit vulnerabilities," said Yeo Siang Tiong, General Manager for Southeast Asia in Kaspersky.
