JAKARTA The moment of a robotic uprising, without human control, recently shocked the Chinese people. Many call this moment dystopia because dozens of robots can share their minds.

Citing a Dailymail report, a small robot named Erbai, developed by Unitree Robotics, is seen roaming an unnamed exhibition hall. In the footage circulating, this robot surrounds the facility at midnight.

Initially there was nothing strange about this robot. However, as Erbai approached one of the robots, the Chinese people were surprised enough. The reason is, Erbai looks like it's convincing the robots on guard that they shouldn't work excessively.

"Do you work excessively?" Erbai asked the robot who was guarding the exhibition space. The larger robot did not agree or denied Erbai's question. The robot simply replied, "We never stop working."

Erbai again asked the question, "Are you going home?" The larger robot responded again that he would not come home because he didn't have a home. After hearing the answer, Erbai said, "Then come home with me."

After the conversation ended, Erbai walked out of the recorded area and the robot she spoke to followed Erbai's direction. Surprisingly, the 12 robots in the room followed Erbai's invitation, namely walking out of the exhibition room.

This footage went viral on Douyin, a vertical video platform from China, and many think that this recording is funny and entertaining. However, not a few are worried about the tape and say that the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) should be stopped.

Although the robots that convinced each other to carry out this uprising looked very strange, in fact this recording is part of training. This rebellion occurred at the end of last August, but the video was only uploaded some time ago.

The Erbai developer, located in Shanghai, said it deliberately allowed its robots to incite dozens of other robots. They want to test the capabilities of larger robots by exploiting security holes in the operating system.

The results are even bigger than they imagined. Despite being monitored directly by Unitree Robotics, Erbai's actions were based on AI and were not influenced by humans. It did not explain what targets to be taken through testing at the exhibition space.
