JAKARTA - Google introduced a new feature through the API Creditial Manager, which allows Android users to log in to their app accounts after restoring data and apps to new devices. This feature called Restore Creditials is expected to provide a smoother experience for users when switching devices.
According to Google, if developers implement this feature, users will still log in to their accounts such as on older devices. In addition, they can receive notifications and access content without having to open the app first.
This feature works by saving a key restore every time a user enters an application on an old device. The key is encrypted and stored locally or in a cloud backup, depending on the user's preferences.

Google added that the transfer of key restores from one device to another does not require additional efforts from developers, as this process has been integrated with the Android system backup and recovery mechanism. However, developers can implement backup agents to ensure users automatically log in to their accounts before the app opens.
This feature is currently available in developer preview versions and supports Android devices version 9 and above.
With this innovation, Google has again demonstrated its commitment to increasing ease of use and security for Android users around the world
