JAKARTA The sitelink search box was launched on Google Search in September 2014. The initial plan, this feature was released to facilitate searches on a site without the need to access its website.
Although this feature is often seen by the majority of Google Search users, not many users take advantage of its features. Google also realizes that very few users know the function and name of this feature. Therefore, the sitelink search box will be deleted.
In the Google search center page, the company explains that the use of the sitelink search box continues to decline. That way, the box element below the search results will be removed starting November 21.
"It's been more than ten years since we first announced the sitelink search box on Google Search, and over time, we see that its use has declined. That way, and to help simplify search results," Google said.

"After we stop displaying elements of the sitelink search box in Search, we will delete the Search Console rich report for those elements and stop highlighting the markup in the Rich Results Test," Google explained.
Basically, this element is removed to reduce annoying views for Search users. For some users who are used to using the sitelink search box, there is no choice but to open their website and search from within.
