Grab Creates 2.3 Million Job Opportunities Thanks To Digitalization Of MSMEs

JAKARTA Grab is still pushing for the growth of Small Micro and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as part of the company's commitment. Grab's efforts to support MSMEs managed to achieve satisfactory results.

In Grab's latest report, the company revealed that MSMEs that joined GrabMerchant succeeded in creating 2.3 million job opportunities. This achievement is closely related to digitizing MSMEs through the Grab platform.

In addition, Grab also managed to distribute more than IDR 1 trillion as a business capital loan for MSMEs. These funds are provided through the GrabModal Mantul and OVO Business Capital programs. So far, more than 25,000 MSMEs have been supported.

To celebrate this achievement as well as commemorate National MSME Day 2024, Grab held an event entitled Trust Indonesian MSMEs. This event was held with the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop UKM).

Through this event, Grab also wants to celebrate five years of collaboration success with the Kemenkop UKM. According to Grab, the collaboration between his company and the Kemenkop UKM has boosted business digitization and created significant economic opportunities.

Since 2020, Grab and Kemenkop UKM have established strategic partnerships," said Country Managing Director of Grab Indonesia Neneng Goenadi. "We have carried out various programs together, which focus on education and literacy, helping MSMEs to be able to sell directly on secure digital platforms."

Meanwhile, SME Cooperative Minister Teten Masduki expressed his appreciation to Grab for helping MSMEs. According to Teten, Grab has succeeded in encouraging the growth of MSMEs, especially turning to the digitalization era, even though the pandemic was happening several years ago.

"Thanks to the collaboration with Grab, we have succeeded in helping many MSMEs adapt to the digital era, especially during the pandemic. At that time it was a crucial momentum for us to accelerate MSMEs to go digital," said Teten.
