DeepSek Fever In China Spreads To Households: TV And Vacuum Robots Now Use Sophisticated AI

JAKARTA DeepSeek fever in China is now increasingly widespread into the household. A number of household appliance brands, including TV manufacturers, refrigerators, and dust suction robots, announced that they would adopt an artificial intelligence (AI) model from the Hangzhou startup.

DeepSek's big language model (LLM) has rocked the AI sector with its performance rivaling the Western AI system but at a much lower cost. This success has become a national pride for China, as well as seen as evidence that the United States' efforts to suppress China's technological advances will not succeed.

DeepSek founder Liang Wenfeng has received a lot of praise from Chinese authorities, while the company is preparing to launch their latest model, DeepSek-R2, as the successor to DeepSek-R1 reasoning model.

In the past two weeks, various household appliance manufacturers such as Haier, Hisense, and TCL Electronics have joined automotive companies as well as tech giants such as Huawei and Tencent in integrating DeepSek AI models into their products.

Many modern household devices today have adopted smart technology that can respond to voice commands. However, with the AI model of DeepSeek, these devices will have a much higher level of precision in understanding and executing user commands.

According to Beijing-based independent industry analyst Liu Xingliang, one example of a significant increase is in dust suction robots. By leveraging DeepSek-R1's semantic processing capabilities, these robots can navigate the home environment more quickly and intelligently.

"This dispatch will be able to understand complex instructions, such as 'Clean the wooden floor in the main room gently, but avoid the existing area of Lego toys'," Liu said.

With the wider adoption of the AI DeepSek model in various sectors, China is increasingly demonstrating its ability to develop AI technology capable of competing globally.
