JAKARTA Game players usually need a third-party recording device to store gameplay on Steam Deck. However, now it's no longer because Valve has launched an official feature to record gameplay.

This is a very useful feature for players who enjoy sharing their game recordings on social media, especially for content creators. If you want to record with the feature on SteamOS, here's how.

Enable Gameplay Record Feature

Reporting from How to Geek, the feature for recording new gameplay is available in beta so you have to change the system first.

To change the system, you can open Settings by clicking the Steam button on your Steam Deck.

After that, open the System menu in Settings, select Beta Participation, then click the Beta option. Next, select the option to restart your device.

If the device has been restarted, reopen the Settings and look for the Game Recording menu in the left sidebar.

By default, all games played over the past two hours will go to the review folder. If you don't save gameplay footage, Steam will automatically delete the recording from Media.

If you want to record the game manually, you can change the settings by pressing the Steam button and entering the Settings, then select the Edit option on Desktop Layout in the Control section.

Next, select Edit Layout, click Buttons, then select Change Action Set on Command 2 in the Menu line.

After that, you will see an option to manually enable the recording under the System tab, then select which button to use to start recording.
