Garmin Supports SOS Satellite Feature In Pixel 9, Increase User Security

Jakarta Garmin provides full support for the SOS Satellite feature that will be present on Pixel 9 phones, offering a significant improvement in emergency services when outside the mobile range.

This feature, which will be integrated with Garmin Response services, allows Pixel 9 users in the United States to connect with emergency service coordination when there is no cellular or Wi-Fi signal.

This SOS Satellite feature will be part of Android 15 and is planned to be available exclusively to Pixel 9 users initially.

This service will utilize Garmin's global network consisting of trained officers in handling emergency situations, in collaboration with various law enforcement agencies around the world.

Every year, Garmin Response supports thousands of SOS activations, possibly saving lives. We are looking forward to collaborating with Google to help people connect with emergency services when they need them," said Brad Trenkle, Garmin's Co-Chief Operating Officer.

While this feature will be free for Pixel 9 owners over the first two years, Garmin plans to expand the service to more Android devices in the future and expand its scope globally. However, there is no definite schedule for the expansion.
