JAKARTA - The fall is getting closer, Apple is preparing to launch a series of new products at the big iPhone 16 event scheduled to take place in September 2024. This year, Apple promises a variety of interesting updates and innovations for its devices.

One of the main highlights is the launch of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. Both models will offer larger screens compared to last year's models, with size 6.3 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro Max. These models will also be equipped with dedicated hardware buttons to control the camera, as well as significant improvements in camera features including better Ultra Wide cameras, improved low light performance, and 5x optical zoom. The new A18 Pro chip, specially designed for artificial intelligence with upgraded Neural Engine, will be the brains of this device.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will retain the same screen size as last year's models, but will likely use the same A18 Pro chip as Pro and Pro Max models, or it will probably debut a new A18 chip specifically for more affordable models. All iPhone 16 models will have hardware buttons for the camera feature, often referred to as 'capture button'. Additionally, it is hoped that there will be improvements in new cameras and color options, with the AI feature from iOS 18 being one of the main attractions.

AirPods 4 will also get two separate models with different price options. These two AirPods 4 models will come with the case of USB-C charging and updated bar designs, which are a mix between AirPods Pro and AirPods 3. The more premium model will feature noise cancellation and Find My support, while the more affordable models will not have the feature.

For AirPods Max fans, the second generation of this device, namely AirPods Max 2, will be announced this fall. AirPods Max 2 will switch from Lightning to USB-C charging and will likely get some new features such as Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, and Personalized Audio which is currently exclusive to AirPods Pro 2.

The Apple Watch Series 10 will experience a significant increase with a larger size for both standard variants. The smaller model will approach the size of today's big models, while the larger model will match the Apple Watch Ultra screen size. The case of this device will also be slimmer and equipped with a stronger chip that could pave the way for Apple's future artificial intelligence. It is also hoped that there will be new health sensors, such as hypertension detection and sleep apnea.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 will continue the success of the Ultra model with its annual update since its debut in 2022. Although details are not yet available, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to match the capabilities of the Series 10 model, including a faster, better chip for AI. There is also speculation about the addition of new health sensors and space-black titanium color options.

For the MacBook Pro, Apple will launch new models with M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips. While no massive redesign is expected, the M4 chip is in the spotlight this year. Additionally, the iPad mini 7 will get an update once it's not updated since 2021, with an upgraded display and an updated chip, possibly including an M-class chip to compatibility with Apple's AI features.

The 11th generation iPad will also roll out as part of this year's iPad lineup update, with newer and stronger chips as well as possible upgrades to the Apple Pencil, although no major redesigns have been anticipated.

The mini Mac will also get major updates with the M4 and M4 Pro chips, as well as a smaller hardware design, close to the size of the 4K Apple TV. On the other hand, the M4 iMac will launch without a new significant design or feature, but it is hoped that there will be USB-C accessories.

Finally, there are also rumors about new home devices from Apple, such as Apple 4K updated with better chips and HomePod with an LCD screen on it. While there is no official confirmation yet, Apple fans will definitely be looking forward to further announcements about these devices.
