Prabowo: Railways Provide Many Benefits to the People, Especially Those with Low Income

Semarang - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the function and role of the railway for the people of Indonesia.

According to President Prabowo, the train is an economic instrument for the people that must provide the widest benefits for the community without sacrificing service to small cities for the sake of equitable development. This was conveyed by Prabowo when inaugurating the revitalization of Semarang Tawang Station, Central Java, Thursday, July 30.

President Prabowo said that in many countries, trains are positioned as a public service that is oriented towards public service. Therefore, according to him, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) must be able to maintain a balance between the modernization of services and the equalization of access to transportation.

President Prabowo emphasized that technological progress must always be directed to improving services to the community, not as the ultimate goal of development.

The railway network, according to the President, has a strategic role in driving the national economy, strengthening inter-regional connectivity, as well as supporting the development of the tourism sector.

For this reason, the government targets the development of the Trans Sumatra Railway network which connects Bakauheni to the northernmost point of the island of Sumatra, before continuing with the development of the Trans Kalimantan Railway.
