After successfully launching on the iPhone in September last year, the robust (very reliable) Blackmagic Camera application is now available on Android devices starting June 25. "The Blackmagic Camera application for the iPhone has been very popular since its launch last year," said Grant totaling CEO of Blackmagic Design. "We are delighted to be able to provide customers with Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel phones of the same control for digital film taking like our professional cameras."
Terry Frechette, spokesman for Blackmagic Design, stated that there is one unfortunate limitation to the Blackmagic Camera app on Android. The app "can be used on phones running Android 13 or later" but is limited to the Samsung Galaxy S23, S24, and Google Pixel 7/8 lines.
The company also did not have further information when asked if the app would later be available on other Android devices.
The Blackmagic Camera application features a Heads-Up Display which makes quick access to various shooting settings easier.
