JAKARTA Head of FacebookTom Alison said thatMeta is improving the recommendation system in the Reel, Group and Facebook Feed features. These improvements include Artificial Intelligence(AI). Quoted from Engadget, Alison explained that the video recommendation algorithm on Facebook will be AI-powered. Meta also plans to switch some features to new machines, as it was done at Reels some time ago. This improvement comes after Meta tested a new AI-based recommendation machine on Reels Instagram. During the testing period, Meta realized that the number of viewers was able to increase significantly by about 8 to 10 percent. "So, this tells us that this new model architecture learns data much more efficiently than previous generations. So, it's a good sign that says,ok, we're on the right track," said Alison at Morgan Stanley's technology conference.Facebook does use different recommendation machines with machines on Instagram Reels. Seeing the success of the platform over the past few times, Facebook plans to use the same machine as Reels.

"We are working on a project to empower our entire video ecosystem with this single model, and then we can add our Feed recommendation product to be also served by this model," explained Alison. The Facebook official believes that the video support feature on his platform can get some improvements, both in terms of appearance and personalization. Therefore, Meta needs to ensure that this machine change is going well. "If we do this right, the recommendations we provide will not only be more attractive and relevant, but in our opinion the response power of the recommendation will also increase," said Alison.
