Latest Leaks: IPhone 16 Reportedly Present With Drastic Changes In Camera Module

JAKARTA - The latest news about Apple's latest smartphone, the iPhone 16, has already started circulating even though the launch will only take place in the fall. According to leaked images, the tech giant is making drastic changes to the camera lens at the back of the upcoming phone.

The standard version of the iPhone 16 will have two vertically ordered camera lenses, not a diagonal like the iPhone 15, according to the leaked image. While not confirmed by Apple, these design changes may be related to the company's new Vision Pro headset.

Apple is also reportedly preparing its first foldable phone, although it is likely not to be released this year. Majin Bu posted the pictures on Twitter and said, "This seems to be the new camera module of the iPhone 16, because you can see that the vertical placement has been confirmed," said Bu.

When asked if the gap between the two lenses was'really that small', Bu replied, 'I can't say anything for sure.' Since the iPhone 13 in 2021, two lenses of the rear camera module on the standard iPhone model have been facing diagonally.

When Apple introduced design changes nearly three years ago, many fans considered it an attempt to provide more space for larger internal components. However, another speculation mentions that this is just aesthetic change and marketing tactics to encourage people to buy the iPhone 13.

It has become a habit for Pro and Pro Max versions of the iPhone to have three camera lenses in the 'flood' arrangement with two on the left and one on the right. However, since 2013, the standard (more affordable) version has two lenses facing each other diagonally.

It's unclear why Apple will return to the placement of lenses vertically, although this may be related to the new Vision Pro headset. The iPhone 16 is expected to be well integrated with the new, large wearable device, which features the app in front of the user's eyes.

According to BGR, Apple wants all of its iPhones to record'spatial videos' that can be played on Vision Pro, but this requires a vertical camera setup.

Like the iPhone 15 last year, the iPhone 16 is also expected to be released in four different versions of iPhone 16 (standard model), iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. According to MacRUMours, the screen size of the two Pro models is the most expensive option will be bigger than the iPhone 15 version.

The screen size on the Pro model will increase from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, while the Pro Max screen size will increase from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches. Meanwhile, the 'Action Tombol' small button above the volume button on the side of the phone will be present on all four iPhone 16 models, he added.

On the iPhone 15, only two Pro models get the Action Button, while the standard and Plus models keep using the mute switch from the previous year. Apple is also rumored to be introducing a 'hole punch' front camera that is usually found on Android phones.

The company is also rumored to be developing a foldable phone series, years after the first foldable phone was released by its closest competitor, Samsung. The first foldable phone is FlexPai from a Chinese company called Royole, which was first released in 2018. Since then, Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi, Google, Motorola, and Vivo have released foldable phones but have not been done by Apple.
