Mal Fence Issue, Hasan Nasbi Asked to Check the Facts of Security Disturbances

JAKARTA - Special Presidential Advisor for Communication Hasan Nasbi asked for news about security disturbances associated with the installation of fences at a number of malls to be checked directly on the ground. He asked the public not to exaggerate the news that spread fear.

Hasan conveyed this at the Presidential Complex, Jakarta, Friday, July 31, when asked about malls in Jakarta and Surabaya that were fenced off due to security issues.

"We pray that our nation is safe. So we should not exaggerate bad news," said Hasan.

According to Hasan, the news that spread fear needs to be clarified. He asked journalists to check the facts to determine whether the issue was true or just a fear that was circulating.

"The news that spreads fear should also be clarified," he said.

Hasan said journalists could check the conditions on the ground.

"Friends of journalists can check it out for themselves. You can check the facts to see if it's true or not," he said.

Fear monger means the spread of news or narratives that make people afraid.

Hasan assessed that the current state of the country is good. He said the government was working quickly and had just discussed with more than a hundred Kadin managers.

According to Hasan, the meeting was two-way. Entrepreneurs conveyed input, and President Prabowo Subianto accepted the input well.

"Two-way communication. Ask-and-answer with the President, their input is very constructive, well received by the President," he said.

Hasan also denied digital repression by the government.

"Where is digital repression? Every day there is criticism. There is no digital repression," said Hasan. He emphasized that the government did not carry out digital repression. "There is none," he said.
