Apple Claims IOS 18 Will Be The Largest OS IPhone Update

JAKARTA Years have changed and Apple continues to grow. Although iOS 17 was only released at the end of last year, Apple will have to develop its next operating system (OS) for the iPhone, iOS 18.

According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is working on iOS 18 with a tremendous improvement. This OS is claimed to be one of the biggest iOS updates because Apple will add various Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based features.

The unnamed Bloomberg source revealed that Apple's Head of Software Engineering Craig Federighi alluded to ambitious changes in iOS 18, but he did not explain the shape of the changes.

Although not yet disclosed directly by Federighi, several leaks of the AI feature on iOS 18 are already circulating. There are five major updates from the OS, ranging from Siri's upgrade, adding AI features in Apple's application, to the inclusion of the generative AI feature.

Siri, Apple's personal assistant, will be increased in intelligence. Apple will add a new AI system to this software to combine a large language model (LLM). This update could strengthen Siri's performance.

The next AI integration on iOS 18 is the creation of a messaging application that can answer questions and complete sentences automatically and add a generating AI feature to Xcode, an application for developers, so that application writing can be faster.

Additionally, Apple will add AI to Apple Music to create an automatic playlist and add a generating AI to iWork, software like Microsoft Office, to improve Keynote and Pages performance.

There are still many features that Apple will add to the iOS 18 update, but the company has not disclosed the details. iOS 18 will be announced at this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

Most likely, this event will be held in June. After being exhibited in front of the developers, iOS 18 will be upgraded again before launching to the iPhone 16 later this year.
