Nokia Presents AI Innovation, Change Network Only Via Sound

JAKARTA - Nokia, through Nokia Bell Labs announced the first research breakthrough in the Natural-Language Networks industry that will allow the network to be operated via greeting or text orders.

By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) technology, Natural-Language Networks will allow service providers to provide and maintain ideal network configurations for each customer when requested.

Csaba Vulkan, Research Leader Network Systems Automation, Nokia Bell Labs said that operators no longer need to explore technical terms or complex API descriptions when configured the network.

In contrast, simple statements such as 'Optimize the network at X location for Y service' will work. The request can be used to configure wireless networks in factories for robot automation or optimize networks at concerts to upload a series of social media content, "continued Vulkan.

As knowledge increases, the Natural-Language Network is also claimed to be able to meet the needs of services and applications, and adapt without human intervention.

The Natural-Language Network is a component of research initiative Nokia Bell Labs called UNEXT.

"UNEXT aims to reduce the complexity of network management and expand the network's reach by removing barriers that prevent the system from operating with each other," added Azimeh Sefidcon, Head of Network Systems and Security Research, Nokia Bell Labs.
