JAKARTA - The Wonder Reader team from Binus International succeeded in becoming the only Indonesian representative to qualify for the top 10 of the Google Solution Challenge 2023 program.
Solution Challenge itself is an annual competition that invites students to create solutions for problems that exist in the local community by using Google products and technology.
The team consisting of four students named Philipus Adriel Tandra (19), Aric Heno (21), Jason Jeremy Wijadi (21), and Jason Christian Hairianto (21) from Jakarta created a reader's tool.
In this competition, they create tools for readers to use Jetpack Compose, Firebase, and Google Cloud Text to Speech. Where, teachers can directly put questions into applications on smartphones or laptops, which are then integrated into tools to operate them.
"Then, students can immediately read the question and type the answer in the article on the tool," Jason Christian said in a statement on Google's blog.
Cool, Wonder Reader's readers tool uses an Android smartphone as a basis for its development. With the reason that it is easier to operate and has various tools for developers.
"In addition, the number of Android smartphone users in Indonesia is much more, especially for those in the regions. We hope this tool can be used by teachers in the regions," added Jason Jeremy.
