JAKARTA Google Messages now introduces a new feature in the form of a notification "Send as" that gives a reminder to users about the name and profile used when sending messages via RCS (Rich Communication Services).
This feature displays a profile photo and Google account name of the user over the text field in the RCS conversation. Once the message is sent in the conversation, the notification will disappear. This feature was first seen in the beta version of Google Messages (20241112_00_RC00) and is now starting to appear in the stable version (20241029_00_RC01).
Profile Settings for Google Messages Users also present the "Your Profile" menu in the upper right corner, allowing users to set profile names and photos to share with their contacts. This feature, previously known as "Profile disclosure", allows users to share Google Account's name and profile photo with their contacts, especially in group conversations to make it easier to introduce.

Profile Security and Deletion If users accidentally share their profile with suspicious or spam parties, Google Messages provides the option to block and report as spam. Once this step is done, user profile information will be removed from the conversation, and spammers will no longer have access to username or profile photos.
These Feature Goals and Benefits are designed to improve user experience, particularly in group conversations, by providing additional contexts on senders. Additionally, Google ensures that users have full control over the visibility of their personal information.
With this update, Google Messages continues to innovate to offer a more personal, secure, and intuitive communication experience for its users.
