JAKARTA – PROOF co-founder Kevin Rose announced a new deal via Twitter on January 6, to allow the Moonbirds brand to be recognized on a global scale and not just in the Web3 space.
The NFT-focused company was founded by early-stage Facebook and Twitter investor Kevin Rose and designer Justin Mezzell in February 2022. The company also has a collection of Proof Collective and Oddities NFT in its catalog.
Announcing it via Twitter on January 6, Rose suggested that the goal of the deal is to make the Moonbirds brand known on a "global" mainstream scale, rather than just being recognized as a big challenger in the Web3 space.
“What does UTA bring to the table? They are a 1,400-strong force, with divisions for film, television, music, video games, sports, books, branding and licensing, speaking, marketing, fine arts, broadcasting and more,” said Rose, as quoted by Cointelegraph.

PROOF, the company behind top NFT project Moonbirds, has signed a representation deal with Hollywood's major talent agency, the United Talent Agency (UTA).
Rose said that UTA will work on PROOF's behalf to help “examine, mediate, and execute partnerships and expansion opportunities in a variety of areas.”
The Ethereum-based Moonbirds project launched in April 2022 and consists of 10,000 NFT 8-bit owl themed avatars. To date, it has generated around $619.5 million worth of secondary sales according to data from CryptoSlam.
That figure makes Moonbirds the eleventh highest selling collection in the NFT market, with its closest competitors being Doodles in twelfth with 553 million (Rp 8.5 trillion) and CloneX in tenth with 794.9 million US dollars (Rp 12.3 trillion).
While UTA's announcement was supposed to be bullish, Moonbirds' 24-hour sales volume actually fell by a staggering 57.86%, with $442,747 of Moonbirds' NFT changing hands during that time. However, over the seven-day time frame, the trading volume is still up by 63.74%.

The move from Moonbirds follows other big names in the NFT space seeking Hollywood deals.
CryptoPunks founder Larva Labs was the first to hit the road in September 2021, signing a deal with UTA to represent the company's IP across TV, film, video games, licensing, and publishing.
The following month Yuga Labs — which now owns CryptoPunks — followed suit by signing up with UTA to push the Bored Ape Yacht Club IP into film, TV, music, and games. Meanwhile, the most recent incident prior to Proof was a deal between UTA competitor WME and the newly started NFT Boss Beauties.
