JAKARTA - Nvidia has announced that its newest RTX 40 series graphics card (VGA card) will ship in gaming laptops starting February 023. The most powerful option is the RTX 4090, but they all point to the RTX 4050.

Don't expect the performance of the GPU variant on this laptop to match its desktop counterpart. However, they seem to have all of the exclusive features, including DLSS 3, which features frame building for increased performance as well as better ray tracing than before.

As for which laptops will receive the RTX 40 series upgrade first, Nvidia is calling out partners like Alienware's new X16, Dell, Acer, Gigabyte, MSI, Samsung, Lenovo, and Razer in a variety of form factors, including thinner studio machines and 14-inch laptops.

While the RTX 4070 isn't Nvidia's most powerful mobile GPU, it does offer some impressive capabilities. Nvidia said during the CES 2023 live stream that they are delivering the RTX 3080 level of performance at one-third the power.

The 40-series chips use low-voltage GDDR6 memory which allows for very fast sounding performance without using a lot of power. And by using less power, the battery life should theoretically increase.

As reported by The Verge, with the faster RTX 4090 and 4080, Nvidia claims that the laptop can push 4K resolution images to three monitors simultaneously at 60 frames per second, and claims that they provide twice as fast video export compared to previous generation graphics chips.
