JAKARTA - YouTube has announced its new feature called Handle, which allows users to tag or tag someone on its platform.

YouTube says that this feature will roll out in stages starting from next week. In fact, YouTube has already started emailing YouTube channel owners about the launch of this feature.

Based on the emails received by VOI (probably all YouTube channel owners too), YouTube announced that Handle would be coming next week.

"We'd like to inform you that in the coming weeks, YouTube will be introducing a YouTube handle, or channel nickname, to make it easier for community members to find and connect with one another," the email reads.

The YouTube team also shared a few things channel owners need to know before Handle launches, one of which is a personalized URL.

The video-sharing and viewing platform says that you'll receive email and other notifications in YouTube Studio when you're able to select the handle you want.

"Generally, if your channel already has a personalized URL, we'll reserve it to handle your channel," he explains.

Starting November 14, 2022, if you haven't selected a handle or channel name, YouTube will automatically assign a handle to your channel. However, if you want, you can change that handle later in YouTube Studio.
