JAKARTA - Bungie is reportedly working on a new Destiny game for mobile devices, in partnership with Chinese gaming technology giant NetEase.

TheGamePost, took a first look at the LinkedIn profile of one of the NetEase artists, who partnered with Bungie who said he was working on an undeclared First Person Shooter (FPS) game.

A source familiar with NetEase's development plans told TGP that the studio is working on a new Destiny game, and the title is in development for more than two years.

It is known that NetEase invested $100 million to become a minority shareholder in Bungie in 2018. At the time, studio Destiny said the deal would help it "explore new directions" and "build a new world".

Bungie CEO Pete Parsons also told GamesIndustry.biz that the deal is a signal of Bungie's ambition to become a global games and entertainment company.

"We want to be able to build games that inspire people from all over the world, and this partnership will in part allow us to do that, to kickstart the incubation and development process for real," he said.

Sony announced in January that it intended to acquire Bungie in a $3.6 billion deal.
