McGregor's Wealth Increases After Releasing Most Of His Whiskey Shares Worth IDR 8.6 Trillion

JAKARTA - Conor McGregor sells most of his control over his whiskey brand Proper No. Twelve. The deal reportedly reached a figure of around 600 million dollars, approximately IDR 8.6 trillion.

The UFC star founded the whiskey brand in 2018, but Proximo Spirits - which owns Jose Cuervo and other alcohol brands - now owns a majority stake in the brand.

McGregor himself will continue to pay attention to his company and is expected to continue to be at the forefront of the identity and promotion of the drink.

"Proper Twelve is my baby for life!", McGregor said in a statement reported by MARCA.

"I'm just heating up the barrels here!

What I have in store for all of you will bring Proper Twelve to the absolute pinnacle of Irish whiskey, but all the zest!"

Several details of a new deal with Proximo have been announced. The USD 600 million will be split between McGregor and co-founders Audie Attar and Ken Austin and includes the USD 250 million already raised under a previous agreement with Proximo.

McGregor may have relinquished some control of Proper Twelve, but he is thought to have doubled his net worth.

Previously, it was reported that The Notorius had a wealth of around USD 252 million (IDR 3.6 trillion).

Meanwhile, the CEO of Proximo Spirits Mike Keyes is very enthusiastic about the potential development of Proper No. Twelve.

"Since introducing the brand with Conor and its partners two and a half years ago, Proper No. Twelve has become the most attractive brand in the Irish whiskey category", said Keyes.

"This brand continues to develop at an unprecedented rate, and this agreement reflects Proximo's commitment to expanding its presence in the whiskey category as a whole".
