Former Miami Heat Star Dwyane Wade Buys Utah Jazz Stock

JAKARTA - Former Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade reportedly bought a number of shares of NBA club Utah Jazz with a long-term plan to be actively involved in the team's operations.

Reporting from Antara, Saturday, April 17, according to an ESPN report, Friday night, Wade was inspired by the ex- former basketball players who have bought ownership of clubs such as Shaquille O'Neal in the Sacramento Kings and Grant Hill (Atlanta Hawks) and Michael Jordan who is the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets.

"It goes more than a dream that I should play basketball in the NBA," he said

"I saw Shaq do it in Sacramento, Grant Hill in Atlanta, and Jordan in Charlotte," he added.

The ownership of Jazz last fall was largely bought by technology entrepreneur Ryan Smith for $ 1.66 billion from the Miller family, who still retain a small amount of ownership for the team.

Smith and Wade got to know each other and became close through their time together at golf courses in recent years.

"Dwyane could be part of many teams if he wanted to," said Smith.

"We had this discussion before acquiring the major electability of this team. As in the technology business, I want the best people to be in it," he added.

"I want to work with Dwyane on and off the pitch in business, as well as our partners in this team because he is a person full of achievements. He is an example of the people you want in your team," said Smith again.
